ASTANA TRAVEL EXPO: NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE TOURIST INDUSTRY UNDER A NEW BRAND!

From October 5 to October 7, the 16th Kazakhstan International Tourism Exhibition “Otdykh”, which begins its work under a new brand - Astana Travel Expo 2022, will be held for the first time in a new location - EXPO IEC, Nur-Sultan.

During its work, Astana Travel Expo, previously held under the name Astana Leisure, has established itself as an important professional event in advance of the autumn-winter tourist season and, in general, an effective networking platform for working and discussing current industry trends.

The Astana Travel Expo project is not just a significant expo event for the capital of Kazakhstan, the quality of its platform of international level allowed the exhibition and its team to become the operator of the largest international event - PATA Travel Mart in 2019.

Participation in the Astana Travel Expo is of strategic importance for companies in the tourism market. It is the capital’s platform that allows using direct channels of interaction with the sector of state structures, government and specialized organizations, embassies and consulates. And also, the statistics of the exhibition annually record the highest concentration and active work of the leading agencies in sales of tourist products/services of the Northern, Eastern and Central regions of Kazakhstan exactly at the platform of Astana Travel Expo (formerly Astana Leisure). In this connection, the participants note the benefits of increasing sales from a qualitative study of the regional market environment in Kazakhstan and adjacent territories.

The exhibitors will be tour operators, travel agencies, major airlines and hotel chains. Scat, Selfie Travel, Kompas tour operator, Fun&Sun Travel have already confirmed their participation. Participation of large companies from Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia and Thailand is expected, which will perform both with National groups and collective stands, and with individual expositions. The exhibition will present almost all regions of Kazakhstan, represented by the Departments for Tourism Development, whose participation will contribute to the development of domestic and inbound tourism, which is currently one of the priority areas of state policy. Dauren Abayev, the Head of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that by the end of 2021, the number of domestic tourists in Kazakhstan had increased by more than 50%. In total, according to D. Abayev, it is planned to attract 1 trillion KZT to the tourism industry of Kazakhstan in 2022. The popularization of Kazakhstan as a travel destination is especially relevant after the lifting of quarantine bans and overcoming logistical difficulties, which allows demonstrating the geographical diversity and ethno-cultural identity of the tourist offer of Kazakhstan.

The Astana Travel Expo business program will include presentations of new products from structural organizations and associations. Experts of “Turistik Kamkor”, the System for guaranteeing the rights of citizens in the field of outbound tourism, present a completely new resource for tour operators, which ensures the prompt return of tourists-citizens of our country from the country of temporary residence to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the absence of the possibility of fulfilling obligations by the tour operator. The capital platform has the opportunity to present to participants and visitors the exclusive resources of the GR sector, moreover, the exhibition is preparing a B2B discussion platform for meetings and negotiations with embassies and consulates.

In addition, the content of the program will include presentations, training programs, master classes from participants and professionals of the industry.
