A SITE FOR INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND STRATEGIC AGREEMENTS - KIOGE 2024 ONCE AGAIN BROUGHT TOGETHER SPECIALISTS IN THE HEART OF THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY OF KAZAKHSTAN

FROM SEPTEMBER 25 TO 27, 2024, THE 29TH INTERNATIONAL OIL AND GAS EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE — KIOGE 2024 — WAS SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN ALMATY, BECOMING A SIGNIFICANT EVENT FOR THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY.

KIOGE 2024 Exhibition

The exhibition was located on the territory of the Atakent KCBC and brought together 340 companies from 20 countries, such as: Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, India, Italy, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Korea, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Romania, Turkey, France, and the Czech Republic. Among the participants were national stands of Germany, China, and Russia, and 40% of the exhibitors demonstrated their products for the first time. Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest technological and software solutions for oil and gas companies. The expo event became a center of attraction for 117 domestic companies and 223 international participants, which indicates that KIOGE has become not only a key event for the domestic oil and gas industry, but also an important global site for discussing strategic energy issues.

The event traditionally attracted 5,087 unique visitors from around the world. Visitors emphasized that the exhibition is a site for new opportunities for cooperation. “The exhibition brought us many useful contacts and opened up new opportunities for cooperation. I believe that such sites play an important role in the development of the oil and gas industry. A huge number of companies are concentrated here in one place, and everyone can find their client or partner. This is a powerful tool for business development.” - noted Yelizaveta Sidorova, Sales Manager, HEBEI Sinopulse Tech Group CO., LTD.

One of the momentous events of the exhibition was the signing of a contract between the domestic Nursai Energy LLP and VBR Turbine Partners from the Netherlands. This agreement confirms the growth of international cooperation and the value of KIOGE as a platform for concluding important business deals.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking guests, including Almasadam Satkaliyev, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy of the UAE, Askhat Khassenov, the Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, the Chairman of the Management Board of Qazaqgaz NC, Giancarlo Ruiu, the Managing Director of NCOC, Ali Al-Janabi, the Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Shell concern in Kazakhstan, Dzhambulat Sarsenov, the Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion and Youth of WPC ENERGY, Talgat Abdullayev, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atakent KCBC, Boris Danilenko, the Director of the Iteca Exhibition Company. As part of the VIP tour, they visited the stands of the largest companies in the industry, such as KazMunayGas, NCOC, Shell and others.

Over the course of two days, the exhibition site hosted a rich business program, including seminars from Insol Technology, Tengizchevroil, Kazintrust, HECGEL GmbH, Alstron, LPGrup, ITS, Alimay, North Caspian Operating Company N.V., QazaqGaz Scientific and Technical Center, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., and the Government of Alberta, Canada. The Shell stand also hosted the final of the 8th season of the Student Energy Challenge, organized by the KAZENERGY Association in cooperation with Shell Kazakhstan. The competition drew attention to young talents and potential start-ups in the oil and gas industry. This year, 14 teams from 12 universities in Kazakhstan presented their innovative solutions in the fields of energy, ecology, and emission reduction technologies. The winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes.

The exhibition also featured the launch of the ITECA.EVENTS mobile application, which became a convenient tool for organizing meetings and interacting with participants and visitors. More than 150 business meetings of b2b and b2g formats were held during the event. Alesya Timofeyeva, General Director, Water Oil Gas Group LLP, shared her opinion: “This year, I especially liked the digitalization of the event - a very convenient ITECA.EVENTS application and the ability to plan meetings through the personal account. Everything is automated, which greatly simplifies the organization”.

KIOGE 2024 Conference

On September 25 and 26, in parallel with the exhibition, KIOGE 2024 International Conference was held, which this year was held at a new location - at the Ritz-Carlton Almaty hotel. The KIOGE 2024 Conference brought together more than 700 delegates from 11 countries, such as: Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Russia, Italy, Germany, UAE, Oman, Poland, Turkey, China, Uzbekistan. The conference began with a Plenary Session on the topic: “International Partnership in the Implementation of Energy Projects”. The participants discussed important issues of international cooperation, sustainable development and improving the efficiency of oil and gas projects. Among the key speakers were Almasadam Satkaliyev, Suheil Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Askhat Khassenov, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Ali Al-Janabi, as well as Seger Hoytink, the Head of Eni in Kazakhstan, Venera N. Anderson, the Strategy Advisor, Member of the Advisory Board of Harvard Business Review.

Almasadam Satkaliyev, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, during his speech emphasized that the republic continues to increase the volume of oil and gas production, striving to reach 100 million tons of oil per year by 2030. At the same time, the government is placing stake on the development of environmentally friendly technologies and reducing the carbon footprint.

The final of the startup competition in the field of industrial digitalization, organized by PIT ACF - Industry 4.0 Startup Battle, attracted special attention at the conference. The winners received cash prizes, as well as the opportunity to cooperate with large oil and gas companies. The content of the conference business program also included sessions on the sustainable development of oil and gas projects, Kazakhstan’s strategies in the context of energy transformation, local content development, key industry projects, oil refining, international partnership in gas processing, investments, IT and artificial intelligence, as well as petrochemicals. A professional meet-up on the role of professions in the oil and gas industry was held especially for GR, PR and HR specialists.

On September 26, within the framework of the KIOGE 2024 conference, at a meeting of representatives of leading enterprises of the oil and gas industry, a new non-profit organization - Association of Pipe Products Manufacturers of Kazakhstan Association of Legal Entities was created. This is a significant step for the further development and coordination of pipe products manufacturers in the country. The meeting, which was held at the InterContinental Almaty Hotel, brought together the founders of the largest companies in the industry, including: QazExpoCentre - Pipe LLP, KSP Steel LLP, Kazakhstan Oil Equipment Plant LLP, Kaskor-Mashzavod LLP. The main goal of the meeting was to sign the constituent documents and form the Association, which will play a key role in consolidating the efforts of pipe products manufacturers in Kazakhstan, promoting the introduction of innovative technologies and increasing competitiveness in the international arena. During the meeting, strategic directions for development and prospects for cooperation between the association members and the largest players in the oil and gas industry were discussed. The participants emphasized the importance of creating a platform for exchanging experience, jointly resolving issues of technical regulation and product standardization. The Association will become an important tool for strengthening local content in oil and gas projects, which is especially relevant in the context of new requirements for sustainable development and reducing the carbon footprint.

KIOGE 2024 once again confirmed its importance as a leading platform for discussing current issues in the oil and gas industry, strengthening international cooperation and developing innovative solutions.
