AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN AND COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN 2024 BROUGHT TOGETHER LEADERS OF AGRIBUSINESS AND COLD LOGISTICS ON ONE SITE
FROM OCTOBER 30 TO NOVEMBER 1, 2024, THE 19TH CENTRAL ASIAN INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE EXHIBITION - AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN AND THE 9TH CENTRAL ASIAN INTERNATIONAL COLD STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION AND COLD CHAIN SERVICES EXHIBITION - COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN WERE HELD IN ALMATY, BRINGING TOGETHER LEADING PLAYERS IN THE AGROINDUSTRIAL COMPLEX AND PRODUCT STORAGE SPECIALISTS ON ONE SITE.
This landmark event has become an effective platform for presenting the latest technologies in agriculture and cold logistics. Over the three exhibition days, 2,526 industry professionals became unique visitors, who were able to get acquainted with innovative solutions and conclude important business contracts. Visitors noted the importance of the event as a source of up-to-date information and an opportunity to strengthen partnerships. “In the current environment, it is very important to keep up to date with the latest developments in equipment and veterinary medicine, and this exhibition allows us to get detailed information about modern solutions. This year we have already managed to meet with current partners and outline plans for 2025, met new companies with which we are considering further cooperation”, - Asset Abdreisov, Senior Veterinarian, Alatau Kus JSC, shared his impressions.
This year, the AgroWorld Qazaqstan exhibition attracted more than 190 companies from 25 countries, including Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Israel, India, Jordan, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, the USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, the Czech Republic, and Japan. With the support of industry departments, national and collective expositions of Germany, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and South Korea were formed, which allowed participants to demonstrate the achievements of their countries. In addition, agricultural technologies were presented by regional stands from the Russian Federation, manufacturers from the Republic of Tatarstan and Stavropol Territory. Among the participants in the exhibition were leading companies such as AlemVet (Kazakhstan), AGRO-FOOD-GASTRO (Uzbekistan), DONGXIAO (China), Royal Pas Reform (Netherlands), CARGILL (USA), and others. More than 30 Kazakhstan and 150 foreign companies presented innovative solutions for the agroindustrial complex: equipment and technologies for poultry farming, livestock farming, crop production, veterinary medicine, as well as irrigation systems, fertilizers, plant protection and gardening equipment. Attention was also paid to equipment and solutions for the construction of agricultural buildings, storage, processing and logistics of agricultural products, which emphasizes the integrated approach to the development of the industry.
About 35% of exhibitors took part in the exhibition for the first time, which indicates a high level of interest and trust in this event on the part of the international community. Among the debutants were the following companies: Eurasia Group Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan), Kohshin Engineering (Japan), MCFP (Jordan), Gelan (Russia), Irritec (Italy) and others. The debutants of the exhibition were also convinced of its effectiveness as a unique site for successful negotiations and signing contracts: “We are participating in this exhibition for the first time. We got what we wanted, what we came for. We signed two contracts, and in the future, we are processing up to 10 more potential customers. We plan to definitely take part in your exhibition next year.” - Galina Skorik, General Director, PTITSA TD LLC, shared her impressions.
Particular attention was paid to the topic of poultry farming, where about 30 companies from 10 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Russia and Turkey, presented their advanced developments for the industry. Leading manufacturers such as VDH Products (Netherlands), Zucami (France), Neoforce (Russia), PEJA (Netherlands) and Facco (Italy) demonstrated innovative technologies for the efficient management of poultry farms.
The exhibitions were accompanied by a rich business program, which became a key platform for exchanging experiences and discussing innovative approaches to the development of the industry. Over three days, more than 32 specialized sessions and round tables were held, devoted to a wide range of issues: from agricultural technologies and digitalization of agriculture to sustainable management of natural resources. The plenary session “Innovative and digital solutions for the agroindustrial complex of Kazakhstan” opened the business program, drawing attention to the issues of digitalization of the agricultural sector. The session was attended by Baglan Bekbauov, Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sarah Vissers-Ravichandran, Coordinator for Central Asia of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature of the Netherlands, Zhumatay Urazbayev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Research Institute of Processing and Food Industry LLP, Konstantin Korneyev, Executive Director of RinconAgrotech (Bulgaria), Kirill Komarov, Director of DTrade LLP.
Particular attention within the business program was given to a specialized seminar workshop “Dutch technologies in poultry farming”, organized jointly with the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan. The participants of the seminar got acquainted with innovative approaches to the management of poultry farms, including the use of new generation incubators, safe product processing systems and wastewater management. These technologies are successfully applied in Kazakhstan and contribute to increasing the efficiency of local poultry farming.
Among the significant events of the business program was AgriFORUM, which included thematic sessions and round tables on such topics as organic farming, effective approaches to crop production and advanced poultry farming technologies. The central topic of AgriFORUM was “Agriculture of the Future” - the use of eco-technologies and sustainable management of natural resources. Participants discussed the importance of rational use of land and the introduction of innovative methods of growing, processing and storing agricultural products. Speakers from Kazakhstan, Europe and other countries presented research and practical data aimed at creating a productive and sustainable agricultural sector.
The forum included a training “Organic farming and certification: reliable access to international markets”, where agrarians were presented with the main advantages of organic farming, certification procedures, as well as the importance of crop rotation and sustainable cultivation methods. A seminar “Soil health and technologies for restoring the productivity of disturbed lands” was also held, where speakers discussed the problems of soil degradation and methods for preserving fertility. These issues are especially relevant for Kazakhstan, where the introduction of sustainable farming methods is becoming one of the priorities. The content of the business program included a session “Fruits and vegetables of the future: from farm to table”, where agrarians were presented with advanced solutions from leading farmers and agricultural companies. The seminar discussed key aspects of fruit and vegetable growing, seed production, greenhouse technologies, as well as methods for storing and processing fruits and vegetables.
In parallel with AgroWorld Qazaqstan, the only exhibition on cold logistics in Central Asia, ColdChain Qazaqstan, was held. It brought together participants from 5 countries, such as Belarus, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, and Russia. They presented innovative technologies for storing and transporting products in low-temperature conditions, which is especially important for reducing losses in the agro-industrial supply chain.
AgroWorld Qazaqstan and ColdChain Qazaqstan 2024 confirmed their status as the largest exhibition site for the agroindustrial complex and storage technologies in the region. These events not only demonstrated a high interest in innovations in agriculture and cold logistics, but also opened up new prospects for international partnerships, stimulating the exchange of knowledge and strengthening ties between representatives of business, science and government agencies. Exhibition participants note the importance of such events for the development of agriculture: “I think such exhibitions have a positive effect on the development of the industry, because anyone who works or is engaged in the supply of equipment can find new partners and promote this equipment in agriculture. And farming will be more productive with new equipment.” - said Dmitriy Grigoryev, Technical Support Manager, Guentner Kazakhstan LLP.
