400 COMPANIES, 16 COUNTRIES, 3 PAVILIONS: KIHE 2025 AND PHARMATECH KAZAKHSTAN EXHIBITIONS STARTED ON THE SAME SITE IN ALMATY FOR THE FIRST TIME
TODAY, MAY 21, IN ALMATY CITY, THE SOUTHERN CAPITAL OF KAZAKHSTAN, THE LARGEST INDUSTRY EXHIBITIONS IN THE FIELD OF HEALTHCARE AND PHARMACEUTICALS - THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL HEALTHCARE EXHIBITION - KIHE 2025 AND THE 2ND KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EQUIPMENT, RAW MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY EXHIBITION - PHARMATECH KAZAKHSTAN 2025 BEGAN THEIR WORK.
The combined exposition of the exhibitions occupied three pavilions of the Atakent KCBC. The latest technologies and developments from advanced medical, laboratory, diagnostic and rehabilitation equipment to modern medicines, medical consumables, medical products, surgical instruments and medical services were presented by 400 companies from 16 countries, such as Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Egypt, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Manufacturers from Germany, China and Uzbekistan presented their national stands. Collective stands were presented by export centers of Russia, Poland and Belarus.
The statistics of the exhibition serve as evidence of the country’s investment attractiveness and trust in the business climate of Kazakhstan as a reliable partner in Central Asia: 252 companies (63% of participants) are foreign exhibitors.
During the first day of the KIHE 2025 and PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2025 exhibitions, special attention was drawn to the innovations presented at the site. For the first time, the event is being held jointly with the PharmaTECH Kazakhstan exhibition, which allows combining solutions for medicine and pharmaceuticals on one platform. A unique cultural highlight was the opening of the exposition of Dosbol Kasymov, the artist, whose paintings convey the everyday life of doctors through the prism of an artistic view. Among the technological innovations is modern diagnostic equipment based on the use of artificial intelligence, demonstrating new possibilities for the medicine of the future.
In addition to the demonstration of new equipment at the stands, the attention of numerous visitors to the exhibitions was attracted by the rich business program, covering key issues in the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Today, the Kazakhstan MedInvest Forum, a key event for discussing investments and developing partnerships in the healthcare sector, began its work. It was launched by the Plenary Session on the topic “Health Capital of Kazakhstan: Investments, Partnerships, Innovations”, the speakers of which were Yerzhan Nurlybayev, the Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Otarbayev, the Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Healthcare Association of Individual Entrepreneurs and Legal Entities, Zhibek Kerimbayeva, the Regional Director of IQVIA for Kazakhstan and the CIS, Gulzhan Rustemova, the General Director of Medtronik Kazakhstan LLP, Azamat Yeralin, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Venture Fund, Meirzhan Yesimkhanov, the Executive Director of Activat VC Venture Company. The moderator was Vyacheslav Lokshin, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Kazakhstan Association of Reproductive Medicine, President of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. The plenary session ended with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the participation of speakers, as well as honored guests of the exhibition - Marina Durmanova, the President of the Association for Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan ALE, Ali Nurgozhayev, the Member of the Advisory Council for the Social Sphere of the Supreme Council for Reforms under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulzana Abdusharipova, the Head of the KIHE and PharmaTECH Kazakhstan exhibitions. Assem Nusupova, the Deputy Akim of Almaty city, paid an official visit to the exhibition, becoming an honored guest of the event. Her presence emphasizes the high status of the exhibition and the priority of the healthcare topic on the city’s agenda.
To develop business contacts and support their national companies, the KIHE exhibition was visited by representatives of diplomatic missions and international business communities of Belarus, Germany, Canada, China, Malaysia, and Russia.
During the Plenary Session, Ye. Nurlybayev, Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his welcoming speech noted: “This significant event has long become a key professional platform for discussing advanced solutions in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals, exchanging experience and strengthening business ties. It is especially symbolic that this year two exhibitions are being held simultaneously, creating a powerful synergistic effect between manufacturers of medical equipment, medicines and suppliers of innovative technologies”.
The schedule of the first day’s business program included panel sessions: “Health Infrastructure: Partnerships and Solutions” and “Development of Medical Tourism: Horizons of Central Asia”. A panel discussion from Medstandard with the participation of international experts on the topic “Modern Trends in Registration: the View of Experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and the Role of Business in this Process” was held. There was also a session from LABOFARMA, a conference of the Kazakh Society of Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators. DNA-Technology, Vista Med, Grand Lens Nova, ALFALAB R&D, KAZANADA and 103.kz held a number of specialized seminars.
Tomorrow, May 22, the program of the KIHE 2025 and PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2025 exhibitions will continue with a rich series of events. Special attention on this day will be paid to issues of development of the pharmaceutical industry.
The first day of the KIHE 2025 and PharmaTECH Kazakhstan 2025 exhibitions demonstrated the high interest of the professional community in the development of healthcare and pharmaceuticals in Kazakhstan and in the international arena. The rich exposition part, the intensive business program and the participation of key industry representatives laid a solid foundation for the following days of expo events.
