The new future of the oil and gas industry: an era of change.
An online conference will be held from September 30th till October 1st, 2020, for the oil and gas sector specialists, during which key players in the Kazakhstani and international oil and gas markets will talk about plans for the future, selected development strategies, share their experience, as well as practical cases on building effective work in the face of pandemics and their experience in solving urgent problems of the new time.
The online conference is held under the framework of the KIOGE 2020 exhibition and conference, which, due to the long-term negative impact of coronavirus infection, were postponed to September 29th - October 1st, 2021. The organizer of the online-conference is the Iteca Kazakhstan Exhibition Company.
Many experts are already starting to talk about the end of the pandemic and the emergence of the world economy from the state of stagnation, but numerous analysts' studies show that without the introduction of fundamental changes it will be difficult to return to the attractive indicators that have historically prevailed in the oil and gas industry. In most countries, the oil industry remains a strategically important industry, but the lockdown announced in almost all countries of the world and, as a result, the decline in economic activity make us understand that a new future for the oil and gas industry has already arrived.
Thematic panel discussions of the online conference will cover the following topical issues:
- Review and forecast of the current state of the industry in Kazakhstan and in the world;
- Post-pandemic development strategies for large companies;
- Projects and procurement plans of operating companies;
- Digital technologies in the oil and gas industry;
- Transition from oil production to petrochemicals - non-resource opportunities of the oil and gas sector;
- Local content;
- “Green” growth strategy.
Attendees of the online conference will enjoy an unprecedented program with the participation of key industry experts, representatives of government agencies and industry associations. On September 30th, a plenary session will be held to discuss post-pandemic development strategies using the example of the largest companies. The speakers will be representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazMunayGas JSC, KAZENERGY Association, KazService Union of Oilfield Service Companies, Tengizchevroil LLP, North Caspian Operating Company N.V., EY and the Union of Oil Geologists of Kazakhstan.
The second day of the online conference, October 1, will be of particular interest to domestic manufacturers. Invited speakers during the “From oil production to petroleum chemistry, focus on local content, non-resource opportunities and green growth” panel discussion, will discus the future of “green” economy and development of local content as a new course for economy development.
The online conference will be finished by the panel discussion on the Digital development issues. Among the invited speakers, there is the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of RK Bagdat Mussin, and representatives of companies such as “Simens gas and power”, Lukoil PAO, Gasprom Neft PAO, IEA and Atyrau Hub.
The online conference is officially supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazMunaiGas NC JSC, KAZENERGY Association, KazService Associations of Oil Service Companies of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Society of oilers and geologists, and Petrocouncil.kz Oil and Gas Strategic Partnership Development Council.
